The formerly bleak Milwaukee Junction rises. In the foreground, a recently restored condo/commercial project on Milwaukee at Beaubien features the bar Kiesling, on the corner, already anointed as one of Detroit’s hotspot pubs. Brown-papered windows to its left mask a soon-to-be-opened coffee house. $250K condos above and below are already sold and occupied. Behind work progresses on the nine story “Chroma located on E. Grand Blvd. and Beaubien. The former storage warehouse is being converted into a co-working space and a food hall.
